Package 4 | THE GINGERBREAD MAN | 3-5 weeks

"Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!"

This package includes:

1) On-site walk-through and friction-point analysis

I spend time in the classroom(s) during real teaching moments—especially the parts of the day that often feel hardest: arrival, transitions, clean-up, mealtimes, outdoor-to-indoor, and end-of-day.

I look closely at the “small things” that create big stress:

  • children waiting with nothing to do
  • unclear pathways and crowded bottlenecks
  • noise and sensory overload

You receive a clear summary of the top friction points and what is driving them (not blame—just clarity).

2) Zoning and layout redesign with your team

This is not a theoretical plan. We redesign the space together so staff can maintain it.

  • We create purposeful zones
  • We adjust the layout of the classroom

The goal is a room that supports teaching and behaviour guidance naturally—without staff constantly “managing” the environment.

3) Materials curation and rotation plan

  • Together we decide what to: keep, remove, store, rotate, refresh, or repurpose.
  • Where possible, I prioritise low-cost or no-cost improvements, using what you already have more effectively.

4) Visual routines installed and practised

  • We introduce simple, child-friendly visuals that reduce repeated instructions and increase independence.

5) Follow-up review to help changes stick

  • After implementation, I return (or do a live virtual session) to check what’s working and what is slipping.
  • We troubleshoot the real challenges that show up after the first week
  • You receive a small “keep it going” checklist so the classroom stays purposeful long-term.

Pause Reflect

  • Do your classrooms feel noisy and chaotic, with children running, drifting, or bumping into one another?

  • Are transitions (tidy-up, lining up, toileting, meals) taking forever and triggering frequent behaviour flare-ups?

  • Do you feel the room is full of resources, yet children still struggle to stay engaged in meaningful play?

  • Are educators spending more time managing the space than teaching, connecting, and extending learning?

If any of these sound familiar, book The Gingerbread Man Package—and let’s bring constructive calm back into the classroom. We’ll reshape the space, smooth the flow, and help children settle into purposeful play (without anyone having to shout, “Run, run!”).

I want this!

Typical example (what this looks like in a real setting)

A centre says:

“Our classrooms look colourful, but the children are restless. Transitions are chaotic. Teachers spend half the day managing behaviour. The room feels noisy and messy, and staff are exhausted.”

Walk-through findings:

  • Zones are unclear—children drift, run, or interrupt others.
  • Transition time is long because children don’t know what to do next, and adults repeat instructions.
  • There’s no calm space for regulation, so dysregulation spills into the whole room.

What we do in this package:

  • Redesign zones with clear boundaries and smoother flow.
  • Reduce and curate materials so each zone has purpose and depth.
  • Coach staff on positioning and language during key moments (especially transitions).
