My name is Simrren Kaur, and I’m from Singapore. I’ve spent more than 30 years in early childhood education, and even now, what keeps me passionate is simple: children deserve classrooms where they feel safe, seen, and genuinely excited to learn. That belief has guided my journey through international schools, leadership roles, higher education, counselling, and now my work as an education consultant.
I believe early years quality grows best in environments where people feel supported, not judged. My work balances warmth with clarity: we name what’s working, we name what’s getting in the way, and then we take steady steps towards better practice. I’m deeply practical, focusing on what educators can realistically do with the time, space, and staffing they have — so improvements are not only ideal, but achievable.
Much of my experience has been in international and multicultural settings, so I’m highly experienced in working with people from different countries, cultures, and communities. I value listening first, respecting individual values, and building shared understanding — whether I’m partnering with school leaders, supporting teachers, or engaging families.
I have extensive experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Montessori education, and I’ve worked in international schools where high standards are non-negotiable. Over the years, I’ve led teams through multiple accreditation cycles, including the International Baccalaureate(IB) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges(WASC), and I’ve supported schools to align curriculum with educational policies and reforms in ways that are practical, sustainable, and true to their values. I’ve also designed and facilitated professional learning for teachers and leaders, conducting workshops locally and internationally to strengthen practice and build a shared language across teams.
I hold a Master of Education and a Master of Guidance and Counselling. I’ve served as a teacher, senior team leader, an early childhood lecturer at an Australian university, and a child counsellor — experiences that shape how I partner with leaders and staff today: with empathy, clarity, and a strong focus on outcomes, grounded in the child’s enjoyment of learning and curiosity for knowledge.
In my consultancy work, I support schools and centres with inquiry-led teaching, project-based and concept-based learning, curriculum design and mapping, differentiated instruction using Universal Design for Learning, and assessment practices that strengthen learning, including formative and summative assessment for learning and of learning. I also help teams weave social and emotional learning into everyday teaching, drawing on mindfulness-informed strategies, multi-tiered systems of support, and restorative approaches to classroom management.
I integrate educational technology and artificial intelligence into the curriculum in ways that strengthen learning, not distract from it. I focus on what matters most — deep thinking, meaningful feedback, and strong home–school communication — while protecting the hands-on, play-based, sensory experiences young children need.
What I’m most proud of is helping teachers feel supported and confident, and helping classrooms feel inclusive and well-managed, where every child’s voice matters. I love building strong partnerships with families, and mentoring colleagues through coaching cycles and school-wide professional development that leads to lasting change.
I look forward to working with you.
